Voters beware. Here comes another sham. On the invite list are the following special interest groups: California Trout, Waterwatch of Oregon, Oregon Wild, Sustainable Northwest, American Rivers, Klamath Tribes, Yurok Tribes, Karuk Tribes, and Hoopa Valley Trial Council. It is absolutely amazing that the voters like you and me are not invited. In both Klamath and Siskiyou counties, voters elect the county boards of commissioners or supervisors to represent the voters. Where are they on the list of invited stockholders? For that matter, water user groups in Siskiyou County aren’t invited either. Why? It suggests to this letter writer that either the groups invited are special “friends” of these politicians or that the invitees are looking to get special favors from the politicians like 92,000 acres of prime timberland. Maybe both. Why else would voter groups be left out?Hopefully, the voters will see through this sham. A novel idea would be to put whatever comes out of this special interest agenda on the ballot for voter approval. ==================================================== In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. section 107, any copyrighted material herein is distributed without profit or payment to those who have expressed a prior interest in receiving this information for non-profit research and educational purposes only.
