KWUA Centennial Celebration, 100-Year Success Story October 11 marked the 100-year celebration of the Klamath Project. Bureau of Reclamation with 200 people attending.  Bureau Commissioner John Keys was the keynote speaker, congratulating the Project Irrigators on the hard work of developing and caretaking the their farms and refuges. Dave Solem, Klamath Irrigation District manager and KWUA  board of director, and on the power, science and legal committees, was given an award for his outstanding service to the water users and his community. Lyn Long, KWUA board of directors, received the Community Service award for his outstanding committment and service as former chairman of the KWUA power committee. These men have spent virtually thousands of hours devoted to the goals of sound science, affordable power and water certainty for basin irrigators.

Honor the Klamath Water Users Klamath Water Users Association invites you to attend their annual meeting celebrating 100 years of the Klamath Project, by Klamath Courier Reporter posted to KBC 10/8/05 "This centennial celebration is an opportunity for us to look back at the last 100 years and be proud of what has been accomplished here," said Greg Addington, KWUA Executive Director. "This is a joint celebration with our partners the Bureau of Reclamation." Bureau of Rec photo: In the Tulelake Basin, the U.S. government allowed farmland to be homesteaded with preference to war veterans.  This photo was taken after WWII at a Bureau of Reclamation drawing from a pickle jar.  Deeds to land with water appurtenant to that land were signed by the President of the United  States.
